UX Design Lead at Provoke Solutions Inc. Seattle

We’re looking for an extremely customer-focused Lead UX Designer who has experience with leading both projects and other designers. Working closely with our engineers, project managers, and international teams to design and build customer solutions you’ll champion the UX practice within our Seattle office. 

What you’ll do

This role will incorporate leading the full design process from concept development through to wire-frames to high-fidelity specs.  You will delight our customers by turning their requirements into usable and useful experiences. As an advocate for usability, design and innovation within Provoke and for our customers, you will ensure emerging technologies are front of mind, identifying opportunities to incorporate best current thinking into solution design. Day to day you will also: 

  • Gather and document business and design requirements
  • Present and pitch work to customers and facilitate feedback
  • Proactively assess and recommend improvements to the user experience 
  • Visualize design problems and information in ways that are easy for other team members to comprehend
  • Creatively work around challenging resource and technical limitations
  • Have either the ability to and/or willingness to lead, coach and mentor Intermediate/Junior designers 
  • Relish the opportunity to share knowledge and teach UX principals outside the design team as well as rolling out new processes or process improvement
  • Work collaboratively with developers for design implementations
  • Take an active role in team activities, including design critique sessions, best practice initiatives, and social activities.

What are we looking for?

In this critical role, it’s imperative you have at least 4 years’ experience as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer or similar. This means bringing to the table the ability to explore multiple design solutions to a given problem or feature then communicating those solutions visually through sketches, user flows, wire-frames, functional prototypes, and/or high-fidelity designs, as necessary.  We’re also after:

  • Someone who can relentlessly advocate for the customer, deliver exceptional results and juggle multiple priorities within a fast-paced, dynamic project management environment 
  • A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating great user-centered design solutions and patterns, across both desktop and mobile devices
  • The ability to rapidly prototype and create a variety of design artefacts with a deep and broad knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Fluency in best practices for mobile and web-based information architecture and responsive design
  • Creative and responsive interactive prototypes experience with Axure (or similar)
  • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Professional and authentic communication skills with all stakeholders from top to bottom.

  • Program or product management experience working with international teams
  • Print design
  • Animation or illustration
  • Marketing experience (campaigns, branding, content writing etc.)
  • Content Strategy development.
